Les Wittenberg, P.Eng., Owner

Les completed his Master of Engineering degree, in Structural Engineering, in 1986 at the University of Alberta. Since finishing University Les has practiced with some of the largest consulting engineering companies in North America. In 1989 Les became a member of the Timber Framers Guild and has been involved with Timber Frame construction ever since. Les' knowledge of wood and wood working has acquired him status as a wood Grader with the National Lumber Graders Authority. In 1995 Les and his wife built their own Timber Frame home where they currently live, with their children, on an acreage. This home was one of the first Timber Frame homes constructed in the Edmonton area, built at a time when timber frame was just starting to become popular. By designing, building and living in his own Timber Frame home Les has acquired hands on experience on how Timber Frames perform and age over time. This knowledge cannot be taught or read in books. Les has extensive experience in Timber Frame construction and fabrication, Timber Frame connection design, building envelope expertise and fine wood working. Les' extensive Timber Frame background supported by his knowledge of structural engineering makes him one of the most accomplished Timber Framers in the industry.

The diversification in our group from designers to engineers to carpenters gives us the depth needed to build quality timber frame structures.
